Description
Rat Graves Leiper gamefowl are the Leiper line we trust most. Ours came from Rat Graves out of Oklahoma, bred from his double right bloodline, and we have kept the family going on this yard for about twenty years. Leiper gamefowl are a hatch family, and after two decades of comparing, we believe this is as good a Leiper blood as you will find. If we thought there were better, we would have them.
Most birds from this line come green legged, with the occasional blue leg showing up in a hatch, and the straight comb typical of hatch family lines. We prefer and deliberately encourage the darker red hackles on our Leipers, so expect deep color through the neck and saddle on most males. With any named bloodline, value depends entirely on how pure and how well documented the blood actually is, and consistency like ours only comes from holding one source line and refusing outside blood, which is the whole point of keeping our gamefowl farm online stocked from our own pens.

What you receive
We photograph the actual rooster before it ships, box every bird individually at morning dispatch, and send it USPS Express with NPIP paperwork and a live arrival guarantee. Stags, pullets, pairs, and trios are available; take a stag if you plan to raise him your way and have time to wait, take a mature rooster to see full color, hackle, and type before he ever enters your pens, and take a trio for the fastest start breeding this line. Leiper blood sits inside the broader hatch family, so compare this bird with our Gerard Hatch or browse the full lineup of gamefowl roosters.
